Making a murderer - B2

Making a Murderer is a true-crime American series filmed over ten years and streamed for the first time on Netflix on December 18, 2015.

This ten-part documentary explores the story of Steven Avery, a man who served 18 years in prison for sexual assault and attempted murder, before being exonerated in 2003.

After Avery was released from prison in 2003 and he filed a $36 million civil lawsuit against Manitowoc County and several county officials associated with his first arrest.

Soon after that, in 2005, Steven Avery was arrested in connection with the murder of a local photographer.

This series covers the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of Avery and his nephew and tries to shed light on the wrongful convictions of those two men.

To promote the series, Netflix has broadcasted for free the first episode on YouTube.

Whether you believe Avery is innocent or guilty, watching this series could be a great way to learn more about the (often complicated) American judicial process.
